For the third time in my life, I didn’t finish a book.

And considering how many books I read all the time, every day of every year, for a million years, that’s pretty considerable.

The first book I didn’t finish was in 5th grade when I read ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’ It was a lovely book but he’s a vet and I couldn’t hang after his arm disappeared inside a cow.

The second was a free Amazon Kindle book that I picked up because it was free and I was about to bored a plane. I don’t remember what it was called but it was about these Mormon spy/assassins who were trying to solve a mystery. That one had an ok plot, but the writing was literally so bad it was nearly unreadable.

And the most recent addition, Knoll’s “The Favorite Sister.”

And it’s not like I didn’t try to finish it. Sometime you just push through books even if they aren’t good, cough cough. But it didn’t matter how many times I picked this book up and tried to read, I couldn’t do it. And I’m the kind of person that likes finishing a novel before picking up another so for ages I was basically not reading.

Which made me so sad. And my BFF was like fam, then put it down. And I said oh snap, you right. So I did.

But let me tell you why it was so impossible to read.

Two sisters are on a reality TV show about super successful women. Along with three other women they are the ‘Goal Diggers.’ And that’s it I couldn’t take the name.

Jkjkjk. I cringed my way through it. That and much of the other writing.

But no, it wasn’t even the writing. It was literally the characters.  And y’all know even if I don’t like characters I’ll finish the book. But no, these women, and the hand full of men, were literally so awful as people and so flat as characters that I couldn’t do it. I got half way through and was literally like, I don’t care even a tiny bit about who killed her.

Which is such a bummer the premise is so interesting. But alas, it didn’t deliver. So on to bigger and better things.

LIKE THE SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE BOOK FESTIVAL. I went with my best friend (bless her) and it was the best time everrrrrrrr. 11/10 would recommend.
