Book Reviews and More

Nerd Alert

My name is Allison and this blog is an excuses for me to talk about my favorite things- books.

More specifically, about the books I’m currently reading and my reactions to them. It’s not necessarily a review site because that would imply a ridged structure or merit based scoring of some kind. But I will talk about my perceived value of the books.

I’ll also talk about what led me to read said books so prepare for the occasional photo, playlist, or meme.

Posts will generally include a small plot summary, my academic reaction, and my emotional reaction (that’ll be the fun part) but no promises on uniformity. I’ll try to warn you of spoilers but inevitably they’ll pop up so consider yourself warned in advance.

I also want to be fair in warning you that I’m a bit of a book snob. Not because I’m an exceptional writer (lol) but because I read a lot of exceptional writing. So if the last page involves the character waking up and it was all a dream, I’m going to be salty and you’re going to hear about it.

Lastly, before we begin on this quest I suppose I owe you an explanation as to why I’m writing these. Very simply, I love books and everything they stand for. I hope by you reading these posts you find a book you love too.

I read somewhere that life was too short to read all books so read good books.

I’m trying to help find the good ones.

Now, I think that covers everything as far as an intro goes. You’ll find out everything else you need to know pretty quick so I’ll let the posts speak for themselves. Do let me know what y’all think or if you have any book recommendations!

Thanks so much! I’m a big fan of your poems, and your post about Beyonce was really beautiful.
